Luggage Tips for Pain Free Air Travel Jan 25

When travelling by air you need to be very aware of what you can and can’t do with your luggage. There are restrictions on the size, weight and contents of your hand luggage and these can vary from airline to airline. Here are just a few tips that will hopefully help you to have problem-free journey.

  1. Before going to the airport, find out what the limitations are regarding hand luggage;
  2. Always carry a laptop as hand luggage and be prepared for it to be inspected by security personnel (it makes sense to backup all of your laptop data before you travel);
  3. Limit your hand luggage contents to valuables, camera film and essentials that you will need on the flight;
  4. Make certain that your checked in luggage is labelled clearly with your name, address and flight number;
  5. Choose luggage that can be easily identified on the luggage carousel;
  6. Ensure there are no protrusions or straps that might become snagged on the baggage conveyor system;
  7. Your luggage may need to be opened by security staff so be prepared for this;
  8. Always be certain that your baggage doesn’t carry any items that are not allowed by your air line

I hope that, by following these basic tips, you will have a problem free journey and both you and your baggage will arrive at your destination safely.
