Chauffeurs for Rent: The New Spin On The Car Rental Service Mar 09

Nowadays, car rentals are as common as having your own car. Whenever anyone has needed a quick means of transportation because of their car being out of commission, car rentals have been able to save the day. If you are traveling out of town for business or your car has been in a wreck, all you have to do to rent a car is call or make an online reservation. There are many places where you can find a local car rental branch. Hertz, Avis, Budget, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car are a few of the more popular car rental companies that are nationwide.

Avis two years ago introduced a new concept were you can rent a chauffeur with your car. So far, however, this added feature is only limited to a select few big cities like Chicago and New York. You must also give the company 24 hours notice if you intend to hire a chauffeur. These chauffeurs require a three hour minimum charge at a rate of $30 per hour. Customers who are using this service are billed through a separate company called WeDriveU. While the service is targeted to mid-level executives, it is also a viable option for those business travelers flying into smaller airports that do not have car rental facilities.

The traveler does not have to pick up their car rental when the flight lands if they hire a chauffer. They have the option of having the chauffer meet them curbside at the terminal or inside baggage claim to help with their bags. The executive can also decide to release the chauffeur whenever he pleases and drive the car himself.

The UK has been offering these services for quite some time now. To consumers there, chauffeur hire companies are independent of traditional rental-car institutions. You can easily find UK chauffeur companies providing a chauffeur plus car to pick you up at any UK airport. If you want to explore a city in the UK such as London, a company like chauffeur london will give you the option to hire a chauffeur that is also an expert tour guide for tourists visiting the UK.
