Luggage Situation Jul 30

Many have been left in confusion about what they are and aren’t allowed to take onto a plane as hand luggage.

It has been said by government officials that the current rule of one bag per passenger will remain, at least until the end of summer.

So what are the rules exactly? Well, you are allowed one bag per person, and it doesn’t end there. All liquids and pastes must be kept together within a see through resealable bag. So toothpaste, perfume, contact lens solution etc. must all be kept within this bag. Each liquid container must be smaller than 100ml, so no trying to get a half full 200ml container through.

Other normal restrictions apply on the actual size of the item of luggage itself, but this will vary depending on the airline.

All of these restrictions and regulations can add a stressfull element to your otherwise stress free all-inclusive holiday, and many are choosing to transfer at European airports where the restrictions do not apply. For the UK though, it looks as though the rules are set to stay.
