Hotel stays can prove to be hazardous as you never actually know when you will suffer from health problems or an accident.When comparing hotels, hotels with higher ratings are considered to be the safer hotels.However as this is not always true, you have to follow these tips for your family’s safety.
Lysol is an effective antiseptic to spray for most of the room.Concentrate on the remote control, bathroom, door handles and areas where you have maximum body contact.
As bathroom floors are not always clean, take along flip flops to prevent diseases like athletes foot when using the hotel bathroom. You never know how many people have used the bathroom, and what health problems they may have had.

Check for bed bugs if you stay in cheaper hotels.So pull back the bed mattress to look for bed bugs. Gather your belongings, claim your refund and look for another hotel if you find bed bugs under your mattress.Make sure that the bedding is clean and safe enough to sleep, if you find no bed bugs in your room.If you find stains or holes in the bedding, have them changed.

If you are staying in hotel rooms with kitchens, it is better for you to bring along paper plates.If you wish to use the resort’s plates and silverware, do so after thoroughly washing them with soap.

Travellers to countries like Mexico are advised to take along a gallon or more of drinking water. This prevents possible contamination through bacteria and diseases in the water.

Check the ratings of hotels before booking them.You can find out what other travellers think about hotels by checking up on websites like TripAdvisor.com. Ignore hotels that come with a low ratings while you check on different accommodation.It is advisable to consider only hotels that have great reviews.
