The city of Bradford can be found in West Yorkshire, England, UK. Constructed at the foothills of the mountain range known as the Pennines the city of Bradford was perfectly placed to blossom during the period of history known as the industrial revolution. The fact is that, during the 19th century, the town of Bradford stood at the very forefront of the Industrial revolution and the city quickly became a major international centre of textile manufacture, especially in the wool industry and the city of Bradford gained the name of being the wool capital of the world. As a result of the ample supply of raw materials of soft water, coal and iron ore the city witnessed extremely quick growth of its manufacturing base and an equally quick growth in population. Unfortunately Bradford’s textile industry fell into decline in the middle of the 20th century. Since that time the city has developed into a popular visitor destination with a respectable number guest houses and hotels offering Bradford bed and breakfast.

Bradford’s industrial past has left a legacy of fine Victorian buildings, including; the Wool Exchange, St. George’s Hall, old mills and the City Hall with it’s gothic extension to the rear. The most ancient building situated in the city of Bradford is the Cathedral, which dates back to medieval times, and was, for much of its life, a simple parish church. Regrettably few buildings survive from this time, except for Bolling Hall. Bolling Hall is now a museum, situated approximately 1 mile away from the city centre. Situated in a quiet, leafy garden, the museum takes you on a wonderful journey, to a period dating back 5 hundred years, through the lives of those who once refered to Bolling Hall as home.

The city of Bradford is the home of the National Media Museum, which is one of the most popular museums outside of London. Previously known as the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television, the fabulous museum is free to enter which is suitable for people of all ages. It contains a total of 3 cinemas, one of which is the finest in the United Kingdom. One can explore television’s past, present and future in Experience TV, relive your favourite television moments in TV Heaven, muck about with lenses, light and colour in the Magic Factory and investigate the fascinating world of animation and watch a real animator working in the Animation Gallery. Every weekend and during holidays the Media Museum has a highly exciting tightly packed schedule of talks, activities and free tours.

If you are in the process of planning a short break in Bradford you will discover plenty of online hotels and guest houses offering Bradford bed and breakfast accommodation. You will find a comprehensive selection of Bradford hotels and guest houses at http://bradford.hotelreservationhelper.com/

Choosing the right hotel room is not an easy task; in fact many consider this the most difficult task to do while sorting out a holiday. Choose hotels for holidays based on the amount you can spend for it, the amenities of the hotel itself and how far it is from the major attractions of the city or location. These tips will help you find the right hotel.

1) Hotels that are located near to attractions of the country or city generally cost more than other hotels. Staying in an out of town hotel can save you lots of money.

2) There is a drawback here though, as you have to spend much more time and money travelling to your destinations, so you could spend more money on petrol or fares. It is up to you to decide if it is better spending more on petrol or fares, or on escalated hotel rates!

3) Members of the military, senior citizens and members of auto clubs like the AA offer discounts in their affiliated hotels and motels.Make use of these discounts when on a holiday, as these lodging places will in no way make any differences in their services and amenities because of the discounts you are offered.

4) The best way to save money on your hotel bills would be to book your hotel rooms well in advance. There are many hotels that offer cheaply priced rooms on a first come, first served basis. You will be charged lower rates when you book your hotel room well in advance as hotel rates tend to increase during the holiday season.

If you want to save money during your next holiday, you have to choose your hotel and hotel rooms keeping all these points in mind. You can get even better rates by comparing rates of different hotels using these above mentioned points and of course, choose the hotel offering the lowest rates.

For great accommodation in Chicago, studio hotels in Edgewater & suites in Chicago

Sun bathing on the beach for most of my summer vacation isn’t something I would consider. Please don’t misunderstand me, at times I really do enjoy relaxing on a sunny beach, but, I also like to explore a little inland too. I like to soak in the atmosphere, I really like to indulge in the local foods and sampling the culture. In truth each year I enjoy visiting new places and I try very hard attempting to find somewhere 100% unique and different. This is the most likely reason why I enjoy visits to the island in the Hebrides called the Isle of Harris and why I regularly decide to book Harris self catering cottages.

The Isle of Harris is a tiny island located just off the west of Scotland. The island is one of over 300 of small isles which are referred to as the Outer Hebrides, although to be 100% correct the UK postal address is the Western Isles. Known as either the Western Isles or the Outer Hebrides the islands are breathtakingly beautiful and incredibly unique. For tourists who enjoy relaxing on a golden sandy beach Harris has plenty to choose from and all are wonderful and frequently deserted. It would seem as though beyond turn you are met with an awesome sight. The Isle of Harris roads are not the same as elsewhere in Britain single track roads are very common and you will often be forced to used passing places to let oncoming traffic past and also let traffic from behind to pass too. All you really need to do is pull over to the left of the road. But, If it is an extremely large vehicle wishing to pass and the passing place is on your right you may move over into it to let the big vehicle pass more easily but at all times be careful not to drive off the edge of the road too much.

One of the main reasons folk visit the Isle of Harris is to enjoy the the culture and landscape of the Isles. The Isle of Harris culture has, through the generations been powerfully influenced by the Norse, Celtic, Scottish and English races. Today in general most people speak in the Gaelic language and though many speak English, it is often their 2nd language. The inhabitants of the Isle of Harris are amongst the friendliest on the planet and their hospitality is well known across the globe. The Harris folk are justifiably proud of the immensely beautiful Harris countryside and go to some length to keep the place clean and tidy so it is crucially important to clear up any of your litter.

Dotted along the south west coast of the Isle of Harris you will discover some of the most breath takingly beautiful golden sandy beaches in the whole of Scotland, and it could be said the whole of the United Kingdom. You will notice that the waters are very clear and it is true to say that the Isle of Harris beaches are incredibly clean. Sadly there is no way to avoid debris washing up from Atlantic shipping but thankfully there isn’t alot.

If you are currently deciding about having a short break Harris the why not think about letting a self catering house on the Isle of Harris please visit http://www.isleofharrisselfcateringhouse.co.uk/

Obviously a place such as this would be a interesting place to visit however, there is a great deal more to the place. In fact Bournemouth is surprisingly popular with people of various ages, the most probable reason why there are so many establishments offering bed and breakfast in Bournemouth to choose from.

Bournemouth is located right on the coast in the South of England, about 100 miles away from of London. The largest town on the south coast, Bournemouth, is famous for its seven miles of spectacular golden beaches and sparkling deep blue sea. It is Bournemouth’s superb situation that caused it to be a popular UK holiday destination since the start of the nineteenth century. It is nigh on impossible to envisage that in and around Bournemouth was, in the early 19th century, largely a barren and remote heathland mainly consisting of common grazing with the exception of the estate of Sir George Ivison Tapps. The Tapps Arms, a public house, appeared on the heathland in 1809, a couple of years after this, in the year 1812, the first people moved in.

Lewis Tregonwell and his wife purchased a little land, from Sir George Ivison Tapps, upon which they constructed a series of villas looking out to sea with the intention of letting them to visitors in the summer months for holidays. Tregonwell also built themselves a summerhouse. and also started to plant a huge amount of pine trees, making a beautiful sheltered walkway leading to the beach, , which was later called the Invalid’s walk.

Since those early days the popularity of Bournemouth, as a resort by the sea, has continuously increased, and today, it has become known as a tourist haven for fun, culture, recreation, leisure and entertainment. Places which prove very popular to visit include; Bournemouth Pier, the graveyard of St. Peters Church, the Russel-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum and the award winning Central Gardens.

If you and your family are currently deciding upon taking a break in the city of Bournemouth it is incredibly important that you book your rooms as early as possible as, sadly Bournemouth hotels and guest houses tend to be alarmingly busy and are commonly fully booked well in advance. If you are a large group you might find that serviced apartments in Bournemouth are a reasonable option to bed & breakfast in Bournemouth.

The holiday market has taken a battering from the unstable economy. XL was one of the first high-profile tour operators to hit the floor and since then there have been many other either struggling or calling it a day completely. TUI however, Britain’s biggest tour operator has revealed the first good news in a long time this month by announcing that its holiday sales are up on the previous month’s figures.Peter Long, chief executive at TUI suggested that this is because people are now a bit more comfortable about spending their disposable income. They are have realised that the recession it is not as bad as everyone made it out to be and now want to relax. “Customers who delayed purchasing holidays in the early booking season have started to return to the market” the company said.

Another element that probably has had an influence is low interest rates. Utility bills have been reduced, mortgage rates are at a low point and food costs are at a reasonable level also. This adds up to quite a lot of savings and means people have more money to fork out for their leisure activities. The Caribbean and Mediterranean are proving to be very popular at the moment and people seem to be choosing beach holidays that are not as active where they can just chill out. Holidays that are all inclusive are proving popular also.

Although bookings for TUI are down 7% on this time last year, they are much more healthy than the 18% drop they have been suffering the rest of the year. They have sold 93% of their winter holidays because despite the worst performing market currently being the Nordic region, holidays to Canada have been doing very well

TUI has said that this pick up represents a general improving trend in holiday sales. By the end of this holiday season we predict that purchasing levels will rise up to their previous levels the market regains strength.

For the best fly drive Canada holidays visit Canadian Sky

During these difficult time, often called the credit crunch, many groups of people are in the process of seriously examining the way they run their affairs and trying to save money. One way many are saving is to have an English vacation the reason being that the English pound is so weak and this means that foriegn vacations for the English are more costly than in previous years and far less expensive for people coming from abroad. In the article below I describe the seaside town of Southport, in the North West of England.

Southport is a exquisite seaside town found on the English North West coast. Tourist attractions include, Churchtown village, the Botanic Gardens at Churchtown, Churchtown village, Southport Pier, Lord Street, Wayfarers’ Arcade, Hesketh Park and more. Lord Street is Southport’s main street. All the way down one side of the street the broad pavement are covered by superb Victorian iron work and a row of deciduous trees closer to the road. On the facing side of Lord Street you will discover pools and fountains, flower beds and gardens and a Victorian bandstand. Right in the heart of Lord Street is most likely the most grandiose war memorials in the land with an obelisk at the centre and 2 other memorials on each side which have huge columns. Lord Street has some of Southport’s finest architecture and it is where you will discover the superb Wayfarers’ Arcade.

At the end of Lord Street you will find Hesketh Park. Hesketh Park is named after the Hesketh family just as Lord Street has plenty of trees the park also benefits from extensive tree plantings. Hesketh Park also has wonderful flower beds, hidden gardens, a play park, glass house and more but the lake is the most prominent feature.

At Churchtown you will find another wonderful park, the Botanic Gardens which features a a long stretch of still water which appears like a river which has boats for hire, an ornate bridge, ducks, swans and other wildlife and if you like animals and birds the Botanic Gardens also has a small zoo, just in front of the museum and cafe. Churchtown village itself is a picturesque group of ancient fishermen’s cottages, cottages and houses most of which are white and some of them have a thatched roof. It is crucially important that you take a walk around and that you are not afraid to look down alleys as there are a few hidden places of interest well worth the trouble to find.

Finding bed and breakfast in Southport is relatively painless with a varied number of Southport guest houses and hotels taking online reservations. There are guest houses suitable for all tastes and budgets from from luxurious to cheap and cheerful in the centre of Southport or just outside.

Cardiff is not just the Welsh capital city, but also the most popular tourist destination in the UK outside London, the English capital city. The city is also the biggest of the cities in Wales, however the city remained only a small town until it reached the beginning of the 19th century. It was at this time when the small Welsh town of Cardiff saw itself develop into a considerably large port involved in the transportation of Welsh coal, together with other industry. It wasn’t until the 28th October nineteen hundred and five the small town of Cardiff was given city status (granted by King Edward VII of England), but, weirdly, Cardiff only became the capital city of Wales on 20th December 1955. When Cardiff was declared the capital it very quickly became the home of many national institutions, including the University of Wales Registry Building, the National Museum of Wales and the Welsh National War Memorial. Throughout the last couple of decades the Information and Technology industry experienced superb expansion as well as, to a lesser degree various other sectors of business, most noticeably in service industries. The industry of tourism has also grown dramatically and today there are large numbers of hotels supplying bed & breakfast in Cardiff.

Visitor Attractions In Cardiff

Although Cardiff has only been a city for 100 years, interestingly a castle has been at the site for an estimated 2 thousand years. The current Cardiff Castle is, most likely, the most popular attraction in the city and can be located right in the very heart of the city centre. It is possible for visitors to take a guided tour through the castle interior, and/or, take a relaxing wander about the breathtakingly picturesque gardens of the castle. At the castle there is also a newly opened Interpretation Centre which displays the differing stages of development, of the castle, throughout time from Roman times through to modern times.

The city of Cardiff also has a fair few modern attractions including the incredibly interesting Techniquest, one of the United Kingdom’s most popular centres of Science Discovery. At the centre visitors will be presented with more than 100 hands on exhibits, designed especially to both entertain and educate visitors of all ages. There’s also a laboratory, a hi-tech Science Theatre, a planetarium and a Discovery Room.

There are a great many more visitor attractions to see in the city of Cardiff, so, if you and your family are in the process of considering spending a few weeks there it is incredibly important that you reserve your rooms at the earliest opportunity as, unfortunately hotel and guest house accommodation in Cardiff tend to be amazingly busy and are frequently fully booked for a long period in advance. If you are travelling in a large group you may find that Cardiff apartments turns out to be a cheap option compared to bed and breakfast accommodation.
